Kenny Hill began building guitars in the mid 1970's, first in Santa Barbara, CA, then later in the Santa Cruz area. In 1978 he was awarded one of the first California Arts Council grants to an individual artist for his work as a guitar builder and guitarist. During that time he was instructor of guitar on the faculty at University of California, Santa Cruz. Since that time Kenny Hill has built one of the most respected classical guitar making companies in the world.
The core of Hill Guitar Co. Inc, is the workshop near Kenny's home near Santa Cruz, California where the Signature and Master Series are produced by a shop of about five people.
Kenny is an accomplished concert Classical guitarist which shows in the playabilty, tone and detail of each of his wonderful creations. We keep a good inventory of Hill guitars and we just love them- that French polish finish is really great too!
